Thirumalida Mahadeva Temple Mallappally
The Thirumalida Mahadeva Temple in Mallappally is situated on the banks of the Manimala River. The main deity worshipped in this temple is Lord Shiva. There is a common story associated with this temple. A woman from a low caste came here to collect grass. When she hit a stone with a sickle, she was surprised to see blood. She informed the local rulers. It was a miracle, and a temple of Lord Shiva was discovered. Since the name of the woman who first identified the temple was Thirumali, the temple is named after her.
