To avoid waterlogging, mosquito infestation and infectious diseases during the monsoon season, pre-monsoon cleaning activities were organized under the leadership of Gram Panchayat representatives, Kudumbashree, occupational safety workers, Haritha Karma Sena members and the general public. The main activities were cleaning the premises of houses and institutions, removing garbage, drains, blockages in canals and streams, and cleaning places where water is likely to stagnate.

The aim is to ensure a healthy environment by collecting and disposing of plastic waste and cleaning public places and drinking water sources. The Health Department, Haritha Karma Sena, Kudumbashree workers, public representatives, volunteers and the general public jointly participated in these activities.

Pre-monsoon cleaning activities can prevent diseases such as dengue fever, leptospirosis and chikungunya and create a safe and hygienic environment. The active participation of the people is essential for the success of such activities.
